HSDPA 7.2 offers download speeds that are faster than those offered by HSDPA 3.6 which was previously deployed on the O2 network. The HSUPA enhancement offers faster upload speed than were previously available and offers upload capability that is faster than other Mobile broadband services on the market. HSUPA is of great benefit to our customers because it enables them to upload music, photos, videos and documents quickly and easily and while on the move. For example, a 2Mb photo can be uploaded in less than a minute.

The download and upload speed that customer experience can be affected by a number of factors. These include the number of other users on the network (which is at its highest during the busy period from about 6pm to 10pm during weekday evenings), the distance that the customer is located from the nearest 3G mast, the thickness of the walls in the premises where the customer is located and on other network conditions. The modem that the customer is using can also affect the speed experienced.
